This week’s bonus episode, the third installment of The History of Taiwan series w/ James Lin, is coming tomorrow, so in the meantime we hope everyone enjoys this debate using Danny’s New Republic piece on fascism as a launching point!

Daniel Steinmetz Jenkins, assistant professor in history at Wesleyan College, moderates a debate between Danny and Jason Stanley, Jacob Urowsky Professor of Philosophy at Yale University and author of the 2018 book How Fascism Works: The Politics of Us and Them, about fascism discourse in the United States. The discussion was centered around Danny’s piece in The New Republic, “Does American Fascism Exist?”. Things get spicy, but we’re all friends in the end. Except with fascists.
