Is there some historical or theoretical precedent for this approach that I'm not aware of or not getting? In other words, does it go any deeper than: cats are cool, and marxist theory is cool, so let's tell a cat-themed economic history? Could you do the same project with any other animal like snakes or dogs? I mean, I definitely dig it, but I don't think I get it haha.

According to the official press release, the book "[revises] the medieval bestiary form to meet Marxist critique". So, apparently it's a twist on this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bestiary

Perhaps you can set up a separate channel for content like this. The topic is dull and irrelevant. I took nothing from the episode.

You guys know I support your work so I'm just being honest. (I own a few cats and am pro feline.)

David you know we appreciate your support, but I think it's OK if there are occasionally episodes that don't do it for you. There are a lot of other folks who listen to the show too and I just don't think we can set up bespoke channels to cater to each individual listener's specific interests.
